Introduction To Ship Finance

A Welcome from our Chairman, Peter Stowell
Dear Colleague,
Lloyd’s Maritime Academy and I look forward to welcoming you to the Introduction to Ship Finance Summer School.
I must admit that I learn something new each day about shipping and the people within it and the great thing about our industry is that no matter how old you are or how long you’ve been a part of it, we are still really students because the business never stands still.
This course has been carefully constructed to climax in syndicate presentations to our Credit Committee and if you get past them (and me) you then have to sell your offer to the Ship Owner Committee – just like in the real world.
The good news is that we have put together a panel of great speakers, who will share their experiences with you and will be aware of what you need to know to complete the syndicate exercises!
Sounds like fun doesn’t it?
All our speakers adopt a group leading style, where you can ask any questions you want. It is my job to create the atmosphere where you feel able to do just that, and to help you get through the syndicate exercise.
We can’t promise that you will always be within your own “comfort zone” but we can promise you that you will have increased your knowledge of ship finance by the end of the week. Course numbers will be limited for the Summer and Winter Schools to facilitate our approach to effective learning, so if you are interested please don’t delay.
