Key Issues that will be addressed in this conference include understanding the implications of international conventions in relation to admiralty law, pollution and collisions and issues with regards to ship arrest. It also covers cargo claims, issues that may arise in delivery without Bills of Lading, the law if carriage of goods by sea which include the Hague and trading interests, marine pollution in Malaysia and ship financing. Maritime Arbitration in Malaysia is becoming increasingly important as court proceedings can be expensive and time consuming thus, emphasis will also be placed on Maritime Arbitration to allow participants to learn about arbitration proceeding, working with the arbitrators, drafting arbitration agreements and avoiding common pitfalls. Importance will also be placed on drafting ship building and crew contracts as well as emphasizing on maritime insurance covering the scope of the insurance, liabilities and limitations and claims procedures.

LexisNexis’ 2nd Annual Maritime Law & Practice conference is designed to address the issues above and to provide in-depth and up-to-date understanding of IMO conventions, drafting shipbuilding and crew contracts, insurance scope and policies, ship arrest, handling cargo claims and many more. This conference will help arm your organization with fundamental Maritime Law knowledge to overcome future challenges in the industry.

Where: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

When: March 17, 2009 - March 18, 2009
